Matt Layton, LCSW/CADC

"I received my BA from Transylvania University in 1983. In 1989 I began work in the field of addiction treatment and completed my graduate degree (MSW) from the University of Kentucky in 1991. I have been licensed in Chemical Dependency (CADC) since 1996 and received my LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) in 2001. My work with clients involves working in the area of addictions for the past 20 years. My practice implements Gestalt Therapy, Reality therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have provided psychotherapy to adults, couples, and teens seeking help for trauma, grief/loss, depression, anxiety, addiction, eating disorders, and marital conflict. I appreciate the courage it takes to ask for help and to look at oneself. My experience is that the journey is worth the risk. I personally and professionally understand that risk, having become a psychotherapist after going on my own personal journey toward wholeness and presence."

Janet W. Doss, MSSW/LCSW

I received my bachelor form the University of Kentucky in Social Work in December 1981; I also received an AB in Education/Recreation and Leisure Studies from the University of Kentucky in May 1982. I attended the University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work for my graduate studies and graduated in August 1986 with a Masters of Science in Social Work.

Some of my work experience includes the Division of Youth Services, Jefferson County Department for Human Service Child Protection and the Fayette County Public School System. I completed my clinical training while working for the Bluegrass Mental Health and Mental Retardation Graham B. Dimmick Child Guidance Services from 1988 - 1994; during that time I obtained my LCSW. I started my private practice at Lexington Mental Health in 1994.

I believe that therapy is a process that is directed by the client while given support and guidance by the therapist.
